Propyl acetate, also known as “n-propyl acetate” or “propyl acetate”, is naturally found in strawberries, bananas and tomatoes. A product which can be obtained by esterification of acetic acid with 1-propanol has the typical properties of an ester. It is a colorless transparent liquid at room temperature, soluble in ethanol and ether.
